Watertown Community Foundation Youth Council Grant Deadline Announced

As a group of six Watertown High School Juniors and Seniors, the Watertown Community Foundation Youth Council is in its tenth year of serving Watertown’s youth. Their mission is to provide funding to the youth in Watertown by promoting charity, education and culture.

The Youth Council is accepting grant applications until March 12, 2010. The Watertown Community Foundation Board has made available $7,500 for distribution to youth serving organizations in Watertown.

Only youth related programs and projects in Watertown are eligible for funding. In general, grants are made for start-up costs for a new program, the acquisition of equipment for an existing program and one-time projects. Prospective applicants may call, or email the Foundation to request a copy of the Grant Application Summary. The completed package must contain this summary as well as a brief narrative, which describes the program and its budget. Evidence of approval of the governing board of the requesting organization is recommended.
